A dear friend of my wife and myself asked me a question at church today about who I was voting for in this election. Upon telling her that I was voting for Donald Trump she said that she had been uncertain about voting for him and stated that there was no way she was voting for Hillary Clinton. I told her that the best thing that we can do is to pray for him if he becomes president. This is something that seems to be repeated all over the nation. As I was setting in church I was reminded of an article that I read many years ago. The title of this article is, “Just Sing A Little Louder”. JUST SING A LITTLE LOUDER
After a speech, pro-life activist Penny Lea was approached by an old man. Weeping, he told her the following story:
“I lived in Germany during the Nazi holocaust. I considered myself a Christian. I attended church since I was a small boy. We had heard the stories of what was happening to the Jews, but like most people today in this country, we tried to distance ourselves from the reality of what was really taking place. What could anyone do to stop it?
A railroad track ran behind our small church, and each Sunday morning we would hear the whistle from a distance and then the clacking of the wheels moving over the track. We became disturbed when one Sunday we noticed cries coming from the train as it passed by. We grimly realized that the train was carrying Jews. They were like cattle in those cars!
Week after week that train whistle would blow. We would dread to hear the sound of those old wheels because we knew that the Jews would begin to cry out to us as they passed our church. It was so terribly disturbing! We could do nothing to help these poor miserable people, yet their screams tormented us. We knew exactly at what time that whistle would blow, and we decided the only way to keep from being so disturbed by the cries was to start singing our hymns. By the time that train came rumbling past the church yard, we were singing at the top of our voices. If some of the screams reached our ears, we’d just sing a little louder until we could hear them no more. Years have passed and no one talks about it much anymore, but I still hear that train whistle in my sleep. I can still hear them crying out for help. God forgive all of us who called ourselves Christians, yet did nothing to intervene.

Now, so many years later, I see it happening all over again in America. God forgive you as Americans for you have blocked out the screams of millions of your own children. The holocaust is here. The response is the same as it was in my country – SILENCE!”
Have you ever wondered HOW people could have stood by and let the holocaust just happen? Do you wonder why the Christians in this story chose to just sing their praise to God a little louder to drown out the victim’s cries?
The old man’s story is in the past. The past cannot be changed. It is easy to think we would act differently now. But the old man’s last words are haunting “It’s happening all over again in America with abortion. The Holocaust is here.”
As American Christians, we have become so comfortable in our lovely buildings and padded pews. We have beautiful fellowship halls for our many banquets. We have the latest sound equipment for our praise and worship. We have computers to keep our records. We gather together each week and shut ourselves inside our buildings. We raise our voices as loud as we can, all in the name of God.
This article hits home in so many ways. It speaks of those so called Christians who were sitting in their pews while the nation as a whole where imprisoning and murders Jews and others who dared to speak out against an out of control government. It speaks of a government that was using these same people as an excuse for all of the problems that where taking place in its country. This was a government that refused to take responsibility for its own corruption. There are so many ways that Germany was just like America today. After the defeat of Germany people and nations said that this would never happen again. But this has been said before. And it has. Nation after nation throughout history has fallen because of the corruption of its leaders. These nations went through the process of becoming a nation and then through the process of collapse because its leaders where corrupt and ungodly people. Instead of seeking the wisdom of God they sought their own wisdom that failed them.
America was established has a nation that stood up against that corruption and one who sought to put God above all else. But what is happening today is history repeating itself all over again. 2 Timothy tells us that there will come a time when this corruption will spread throughout the entire world. and Isaiah 5 tells us that those that are corrupt will seek to justify their actions by calling good evil and evil good.
2 Timothy 3:1-17 (NKJV)
Perilous Times and Perilous Men
3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
The Man of God and the Word of God
10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Isaiah 5:20-30 (NKJV)
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

And prudent in their own sight!

The entire Book of Proverbs talks about this corruption and what happens to those who ignore Gods warnings. Many have died over the centuries because of those who were corrupt and many are still dying even today because of those who are seeking that ultimate power. We see that today many in America have joined forces to obtain that power. And even those who are charged with sounding the alarm about those that are doing this have joined with them. The press in America has become just as corrupt as those in power. And have turned their backs on the American people. Those that are charged with prosecuting those who have abused their power have also become just as corrupt. And they too have failed the American people. But the worst problem of all is the silence of so many people in America. What happened in Germany began with the people keeping silent about what was going on. By the time they realized what was happening the Nazi Party was able to instill fear in an entire nation to keep people silent. The nation as a whole walked around putting blinders on so that they did not have to listen to the screams of them millions that where suffering because of that corrupt nation. As the article Just Sing Louder stated there where so many who put on these blinders and stood by while those atrocities happened. Many professed to be Christians but they were more afraid of man than they were of God. They forgot the promises of God.

Faith Persevering in Trial
40 I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,

And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.

They just remained silent while Germany was butchering those who would not fall in line with its policies. Today we have politicians who think that they have gotten away with their corruption. And those that have provided cover for them think that they have done nothing wrong. But as God has promised! He is the one who sees all that they do. And he is the one who holds them accountable for their actions.
